- Entrance to Roman Baths
- Mike and I in the upper gallery of the baths-this was built in the 19th century when the 2000 year old baths were rediscovered.
- Effigy from a grave–speculation that buried person was an actor. Bad review?
- At the bath level–the Original baths were lower, but this is where the wealthy bathed during the Regency Period. Much of the stone and architecture was built by the Romans during the 1st century.
- Detail of temple to Minerva which surrounded the bah complex.
- Yes that’s us right next to the bath.
- Remains of the entrance to the original temple.
- Detail of angels that climb the abbey walls.
- The climbers…
- That tiny figure in front of the Abbey is me.
- At the Jane Austen Centre
- Why it’s good I didn’t live in Regency England….
- She Who Must Be Obeyed must be included…
- One of the climbing angels lost her head
- This guy did it all, including marrying three times and fathering 8 sons
- Typical memorial headstones included the pedigree of the deceased
- “Best of Fathers” memorial plaque in Bath Abbey
Very nice pictures….love the climbers. Bath is one of my favorite places in England…such a surprise so far from London…those Romans really took their culture with them…no “going native” for them.
